Very tired post camping but did all three today as planned. Bizarrely, in exactly the same time as before! Very cold wind so the run seemed quite slow because my legs had frozen.

Greenbelt
I have had 5 days of no training!! I've been at a festival in the rain and mud and was hoping to be able to train, but a combination of lack of time and tiredness meant that it just didn't happen. It was about half a mile from the tent to the office where I was working for the festival, and I seemed to spend a large amount of time walking around the festival which was spread over quite a large site. There was also a bit of dancing to the live bands most nights!!
It's getting close... 12 days to go.
So, back to training today. E cycled with me while I ran and despite still being incredibly tired, I did the best time I've ever done!!

Camping holiday
I've been on a camping holiday for the past few days with friends, hence why no posts. We got back late afternoon to do some washing and are off again tomorrow morning for a few more days camping at a festival so there'll probably be no posts while we're away then either.
The down side to being away camping is that it's meant doing training has been really hard to do. We've eaten later than we would at home and it's getting dark much earlier too. I've tried to do something, although haven't always succeeded!! It's a shame it's getting so close to the event as it means I'll only have a week of being back in 'proper' training before the actual thing.
Sat 18/8 - Run 1.13miles in 15m57s (when I had to stop because I kept nearly getting hit by cars who couldn't see me as they came round the windy roads in the dusk!!)
Sun 19/8 - Swimming in the sea! Although I didn't do a distance or 'timed' swim, I did a reasonably decent swim made particularly hard by biggish waves and strong current!
Mon 20/8 - Erm... walking to the beach and back, and swimming in the sea!! Oh, and walking to the toilets / washing up place throughout the day... it was 1/2km each time!
Tues 21/8 - Run 1.2miles in 15m 36s (before getting stung by stinging nettles trying to avoid the traffic!)
Weds 22 / 8 - Cycle 2.53miles in 12m 14s (I'm tired and figured it was better to have done something than nothing!).

Cycling in the dark
It would appear that it's getting darker earlier, consequently the last bit of my ride tonight was in almost dark!! Oops!
Cycle 9.17miles in 41 mins.

15/8/12 The Whole Lot!
Today I did all three, around the actual route that the triathlon follows. I was utterly impressed and pleased with myself about how successful I was in doing it altogether!!! When people have asked me what time I'm going to complete the triathlon in I'd worked out that my aim was to do it in under 2 hours. Having totally thrashed this time, I appear to have set myself a rather harder target to beat!!
Swim 11m52, Cycle 48m, Run 20m - Overall time 1hr 25m!!!!
(I still seem a very long way from my sponsorship target though!)

Tired
We got back from holiday today it I wanted to do something anyway. Having had a quick look on my phone, I decided on a cycle route which seemed shorter than my usual one. I decided that it would make more sense to go in the afternoon rather than the usual evening time as u was so tired that I'd be sleeping in the afternoon.
I was wrong about the distance!! It ended up being longer!! And I also decided that I don't want it to be sunny or windy on the actual day - both make it far too much like hard work!
Cycle 9.93 miles in 47mins.

Beach
Running on the beach is also great because it's so soft. Ran the opposite way today up the beach. I went faster than yesterday so ended up going slightly less far!!

Beach run
Lovely flat run along the beach tonight. Rather a slow one though, I think I was enjoying the view too much!!

7/8/12
Wasn't really convinced about going out today but since we're not going to be near a bike for a few days I thought I ought to!
Just like a couple of days ago, because it's so wet / rainy, there were hundreds of snails and slugs on the road. I'm sure I must've cycled extra just by avoiding riding over them!

Swim with E
I only swam 250m today, I'd like to say it was because E was waiting for me to finish swimming before she could come in, but actually she was happy chatting to the lifeguard!!

Had my 'pacemaker' with me today. E rode her bike and wittered next to me. Or at least, she did until she got bored and cycled up and down the lane and stuff! Lol

:)
Rather pleasing ride and run tonight. Had lots to write about it but computer is broken so I'm having to use phone so it takes too long to type!!
Cycle 9.17 miles in 41m (fastest time for this route), followed by 1.9 mile run in 23m 31s.

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees!!!
Went for a physiotherapy session today and got some exercises to do to try and lessen the pain in my shoulders. Evidently it's something to do with the tendon on the end of my biceps! Then because the shoulders were feeling less painful than normal (pure co-incidence!), and the hospital is fairly near the pool, I went swimming.
It felt like a really good swim and the water felt nice and smooth. And it evidently was!! I managed my best time, by a long way (not including the one where I stopped twice!). I found a way to turn at the ends more efficiently, which I'm sure also helped.
Yay!

Proper cycle route
I did the real cycle route today, although starting at a different starting point, about half way round. Having dropped E off at the in-laws, I rode just around the corner to start.
The first half involved a killer hill, which I didn't like at all!! It's also on quite a main road so the traffic wasn't helping. The middle bit (which, if I were starting in the right place would be the beginning and end) were fairly straightforward, again apart from traffic, which since I usually ride on country lanes, I'm not used to any more!
The final bit (which would be about a third of the way in usually) was surprisingly okay. I knew it went up another hill, but I couldn't picture how steep the hill was at that particular point and thought it was going to be quite hard. I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't!! Which meant the ending for me was okay.
Doing it starting at the right place will defo be a bit harder as the killer bit is about three quarters of the way round.
I was quite pleased with the timing, even though I had to stop at 3 sets of traffic lights, one of which seemed like it was for ages!!
I've booked E in with in laws again on 2 of the only days we're actually around in August, so I can attempt all three bits together! Should be fun!

Arms
Today's exercise observations:
Arms are good to use when running.
Bottles where the entire lid comes off when you try to 'pop' the top aren't good when running. You get wet and end up having to stop to pick up the top.
I don't like running up hills.
I do like running down hills.
I'm still paranoid about what I look like in my running clothes.
Run 1.9miles in 22m 45s.
